Adorable Mom "Tattoo" Cards from Crooked Sister

Thought these were the perfect antidote to the syrupy, pastel-overload cards most moms get this time of year. Available here.

Kitchen-Ready Prints from Kari Herer

I've always been a huge fan of Kari Herer's beyond gorgeous prints of flowers and birds (this one, in particular, will always have a special place of honor on my walls), but I've just recently discovered her series of photos featuring vintage silverware and china.

And as much as I love the minimal clean kitchen look, I'm not sure I could ever bear to live in a house that doesn't have art in every room -- even bathrooms and kitchens. Kari's vintage silverware and china prints immediately struck me as the perfect way to add a little bit of charm to any kitchen, but I also encourage you to check out her entire shop. So much pretty! I guarantee you'll fall in love too...

Flower Child Wedding Inspiration

When I first caught these vivid and bohemian images over at Style Me Pretty, I thought this wedding was too perfectly lovely to be real...annnd I was kind of right because it seems like it might be just a photo shoot from Jessica Claire Photo Shop (with an assist from Flowerwild and Duet Weddings)

No matter if this adorable couple is real or not, (but they should be based on cuteness alone!) I am still totally blown away by this gorgeousness -- that dress! (which was an Ebay find btdubs). Love. Love. Love.

(Inspired by)Rodarte Spring 09/Tiny Dancer

I will always, always love nudes, and the top image taken backstage at Rodarte Spring 09 show reminds me why. Something about the sheerness of the color, the bare cut and the soft fabric is so beautifully delicate and innocent and sensual all at once.

I loved that collection and the images it conjured up of graceful dancers. Some of my favorite images from the collection and of dancers below.

Inspiration 4.23

I am obsessed with these poems on mirrors from This is Glamorous and Lotta Agaton. I'm pretty sure this could be an easy DIY project too -- using stencils or decals...or even free-hand if you've got great handwriting.

LOVE the portraits above and behind the garments in this closet. Very cool and elevates the clothes to "art status," don't you think?

Penguin Books Mugs

How awesome are these mugs based on iconic Penguin paperbacks? Created (with Penguin's blessing) by artist Tony Davis and available here. Such a cute gift for anyone whose idea of heaven is a cup of tea and a classic novel.

Olaf Hajek and a Defense of Anthropologie

Sometimes I feel guilty about loving Anthropologie so much. A lot of people have issues with the politics of the CEO, with the very fact that it is a big chain store, with the preciousness of the products...but y'know what...those criticisms don't really outweigh the benefits in my opinion.

I'm consistently impressed with Anthro's efforts to work with artists to commission pieces instead of just ripping them off. And for those of us who don't live in big cities, Anthro is probably a sanity-saving oasis of lovely in a local mall otherwise filled with crap. In short, Anthro brings genuinely beautiful things to the masses, and I'm hard-pressed to find anything wrong with that.

For instance, if it wasn't for Anthro, I'm not sure if I ever would have discovered the amazing work of Olaf Hajek whose book Flowerhead recently landed in stores. So amazing.

P.S. I just couldn't resist his volcano picture below. If only the one in Iceland was shooting flowers and butterflies!

Recipes from an Italian Summer

I want this book. That is all.

Retail Love: Brook Farm General Store

Do you guys remember Oregon Trail? You know, the dorky educational computer game that was super popular in the nineties?

Basically, the point of the game was to transport your little computer family of pioneers West to claim manifest destiny with minimal calamity. Of course, half the time your wagon sank while fording the river, your brother died of dysentery and your oxen drowned. It was such a great game.

....anywhoooo, in my opinion, the best part of the game was the trip to the general store at the beginning where you would stock up on all sorts of essentials for your trip. Ever since then, the very concept of a "general store" has captured my imagination.

I've just always loved the idea of a shop where you could purchase lots of no-nonsense, well-made essentials for the home. My favorite 2010 version of this is Brook Farm General Store (based out of Brooklyn).

While on the pricey side, I love how all of their items feel so timeless and elegant in their simplicity. I picked up a few of the items below over the weekend, including the tool bag, Savon de Marseille, carafe and hamper.
