Etsy Fave: Brookish Handmade Goods

I have a lot of affection for Jane Austen, the woman whose biting social commentary and groundbreaking work birthed the career of many a floppy-haired, slightly grating British actor. I like to think that had she been alive today, I would never have had to bleach my short-term memory the way I did after Bride Wars. I still shudder when I think of that cinematic masterpiece.

The reason I'm thinking of Ms. Austen today is the charming Etsy shop, Brookish Handmade Goods, which is completely inspired by Austen's novels. I especially love all of the goods inspired by the fabulous estates that Austen set her stories on. Big thanks to reader (and PR rockstar in the making) Ashley for the tip!

Artist Spotlight: Nathalie Lete

I'm sure many of you have already fallen in love with Nathalie Lete's ceramics currently commissioned by Anthropologie. I own an adorable octopus plate that I use to corral stuff in the bathroom, and I've been following her designs since that purchase. The especially gorgeous nautical platter above inspired me to learn a bit more about her.

Lete is a French artist who makes just about everything you can imagine. Prints, postcards, children's books, toys, sculptures and rugs, but here ceramics are definitely where she shines the brightest. Check out more of her charming designs below:
